To Close For Comfort...09/16/99

The article below is too close for comfort. It is indeed what I saw in my visions back in 1995. Except it was coming out of the west coast after the earth changes had escalated related to earthquakes and volcanoes. Several events had occurred within a few days of each other.  Since I had published my vision, several have come forward with a very similar experience.

Largest Peacetime Evacuation A Nightmare...09/16/99
By Kerry Sanders NBC News

CHARLESTON, S.C., —  As Hurricane Floyd approached, getting people out of their homes and to safer ground inland was an enormous undertaking. The monumental traffic jams left many people frustrated and angry. It is the largest peacetime evacuation in history and, by any standard, a nightmare.

FOR Thousands fleeing Hurricane Floyd, moving out of harm’s way meant going nowhere fast.  Elaine Barbham of Charleston spent eight hours just sitting in her car and she had plenty of company.  “I ended up in a car for eight hours trying to leave
Charleston and turned around and came home, back home to Charleston,” Barbham said.

The logjam in South Carolina left more than a few tempers frayed. Charleston Mayor Joe Riley said the states didn’t move soon enough, failing to make all traffic on Interstate 26 one way. “If we are going to evacuate people successfully, our state government must develop a plan so that our citizens know that when the order for evacuation comes, they are not going to be in traffic for eight to ten hours,” Riley said.

If the state can’t do it, the federal government must, Riley said, calling on the director of FEMA, James Lee Witt, to oversee evacuations. “Evacuations are primarily a state and local government’s responsibility, but of course you know we’ll support and whatever we need to do to help them,” Witt said.
