NASA,
as of this morning, has gone public revealing a very different
scenario regarding the cause of our extreme and record breaking
weather. The report suggest humans may have very little to do
with what many call the "greenhouse effect". Remember,
global warming simply means, warmer globe. No one said the meaning
had anything to do with humans. Our environmentalist friends where
the ones who put this tag on it.
The article
opens with "Is human activity warming the Earth or do recent
signs of climate change signal natural variations?" Well
well, once again it is good to see the fundamentalist finally
catch on. When a paradigm shifts, such as this one, it will always
come with those in power kicking and screaming. The new understanding
is similar to the equation below.
Equation:
Sunspots = Solar Flares = Magnetic Shift
= Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents = Extreme Weather (mb)
Many of you
know, I published this equation over one and a half years ago,
July 1999. This statement has held true ever since. Here is what
NASA now says "Indeed, studies by paleoclimatologists reveal
that natural variability caused by changes in the Sun and volcanic
eruptions can largely explain deviations in global temperatures"
"The Earth has gone through warming periods before without
human influence." The article also suggest it is not only
solar events which initiate weather flux, it is also us (humans).
I have absolutely no problem with this statement. I have made
it several times myself. What I do challenge, is the percentages.
In my studies, I suggest a 80/20 split, with 20% related to fossil
fuel and other human pollutants. This is indeed a high amount
that we do have control over.
Folks, I can't
tell you how good it feels to be validated. But wait, there is
more..... NASA went on to state what I have been saying since
I started ECTV in April '95. An affirmation I have stated all
along goes as follows, "I believe all science is nothing
more than subjective conjecture, based on any given facts. In
other words, an opinion". Here is what NASA has stated in
today's article..."It may surprise many people that science
-- the de facto source of dependable knowledge about the natural
world -- cannot deliver an unqualified, unanimous answer about
something as important as climate change." I love this. Perhaps
this phrase is even more important than the study itself.
Here in NASA's
conclusion of their study. I think we can find exceptional wisdom
in which to base all beliefs and standards. I will let the conclusion
speak for itself...
"Because
such conclusions are based on a scientist's professional judgment,
(conjecture) disagreement is inevitable.
"There
is enormous room for differences of opinion among equally competent
scientists of good will," Rosenbaum concluded.
"There
are always people -- and reasonable people -- who fall on both
sides of the argument," agreed Abdalati. "And there
are reasons for that. So the best we can hope for is a consensus."
