Snow Shuts Down Parts Of Ontario...11/04/99

TORONTO (AP) - A powerful storm packing strong winds and heavy snow closed schools, canceled airline flights and cut electrical power in parts of Ontario Wednesday. The storm hit Tuesday night, with winds gusting up to 50 mph and snowfall measuring more than seven inches in some areas, according to airport officials and Environment Canada. Air traffic at Toronto's Pearson International Airport was delayed, with some flights canceled, and a portion of the Trans-Canada Highway in northeast Ontario was shut down due to the driving snow.
