The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: A light earthquake occurred 40 miles (60 km) ESE of Moab, Utah. at 3:58 PM MDT today, May 27, 2000 (3:58 PM MDT in Colorado). A PRELIMINARY MAGNITUDE OF 4.3 WAS COMPUTED FOR THIS EARTHQUAKE. The magnitude and location may change slightly as additional data are received from other seismograph stations. No damage is expected.
