SES Hopes For Flooding End...03/24/00

The State Emergency Service (SES) hopes today will mark the end of recent flooding, with waters in the Paterson, Williams and Hunter rivers slowly receding.

Volunteers are patrolling the rivers in boats, inspecting levels and flood damage to low lying properties.

With no more rain expected until this afternoon, the SES says roads that have been closed by flooding around Hinton, Morpeth and Raymond Terrace should reopen soon.
