NIAMEY (Reuters) - Heavy rain in Niger has made more than
1,000 people homeless but raised hopes of a good harvest in the usually arid
West African nation, officials said on Sunday. The rains, unusually heavy for
the June-to-September rainy season, had caused hundreds of homes to collapse
in the southern Dosso region to the east of the capital Niamey, the officials
added. Elsewhere, in the Tera region west of the capital flood waters had swept
away a bridge, they said. Drought often leaves Niger with a grain shortfall.
Equation:
Sunspots = Solar Flares = Magnetic Shift = Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents
= Extreme Weather
