I would greatly appreciate it if you would post my official
statement and url to the modified Cydonia II Report so that all your readers
will know how much I dissent from what is happening in the UFO community.
My website statement is copied at the end of this email. You may include
the body of this message as well. Your editorial decision will be final.
After reading what you posted, I can clearly say that I have had enough of Strange,
as Robert A.M. Stephens calls it. Bell, his cohorts, and even his supporters
have gone too far in their wanton condemnation and slander of professionals
(comprised mostly of scientists and engineers) and their institutions.
They have demonstrated a reckless defiance of logic and extreme disdain for
the scientific method and peer review (i.e. criticism). I will no longer
be a part of this sham called UFOlogy, which has proven itself to be a waste
of energy and time. I am not speaking of the field investigations I conducted,
but of the methods and attitudes that prevail in the UFO community and amongst
unqualified skeptics. Bell is not leading anyone towards the light of
truth, but towards a false reflection of light from the depths of blackness,
ignorance, and fear. Anyone who follows him after such clear statements
of prevarication as you posted from his radio program is like a moth attracted
to the light of a flame. Bell and his cohorts are creating the conspiracy,
not NASA or JPL or any aerospace organization dominated by critical and careful
thinkers, known as scientists. Bell will only succeed in widening the
credibility gap between the UFO community and mainstream science. Either
he is hopelessly insane or he is intentionally trying to destroy any possibility
for an open and public scientific investigation of the UFO phenomenon.
That is my analysis and critique.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
As a consequence of lessons learned, I have left UFOlogy and returned to mainstream
science, where the scientific method is the enemy of unsupported speculation.
The sanity of mainstream science is Oh so refreshing compared to the stench
of the BS coming from the leaders of Strange!
I will no longer attend any UFO conferences, nor publish any AOP reports which
are not peer reviewed by other scientists. My web pages are gradually
being modified to reflect that change, with the removal or modification of speculative
theses and the addition of results from past scientific investigations, which
won me the respect of my peers in the scientific community. I am making
my website an educational forum for those who want to know what science is about
and how the scientific method works.
Yours truly,
