The core of
the earth spins faster than the outer portions of the globe. Smaller
diameter = faster rotation. It is separated from the rest of the
globe and surrounded by molten material which acts as a bearing.
This makes the core of the earth an electric dynamo as well as
a gyroscope with an independent suspension. Because of it's suspended
isolation from the rest of the globe it is possible for the axis
or center of rotation at the core to shift direction out of alignment
with the axis of the rest of the globe. The article below suggests
that this has already happened.

Faster Than Earth, Lamont Scientists Find

If this were
to happen by some internal upheaval in the center of the earth,
and I think it already has, a wobble would result in the globe
because of the rotational imbalance this would cause. If the wobble
were to increase great enough, it would overpower the gyroscopic
forces of the outer portions of the globe and roll the planet
so that the polar regions would shift more toward the equator
and the equatorial portions of the globe more toward the polar
regions. This would continue until a stable balance was once again
reached between the alignment of the core axis and the axis of
the outer earth.
I reference
several Edgar Cayce predictions that would tend to support this
theory as to the cause of a pole shift.
Question:
What will be the type and extent of the upheaval in 1936?
Answer Cayce:
The wars, the upheavals in the interior of the earth, and the
shifting of same by the differentiation in the axis as respecting
the positions from the Polaris center.
Question:
What greater change or the beginning of what change, if any, is
to take place in the year 2000 to 2001 A.D.? Answer Cayce: When
there is a shifting of the poles. Or a new cycle begins.
Cayce: There
will be upheavals in the Arctic and in the Antarctic that will
make for the eruption of volcanoes in the torrid areas, and there
will then be the shifting of the poles so that where there have
been those of a frigid or semi-tropical will become the more tropical,
and moss and fern will grow. ______________________
In my own
opinion, a pole shift would not be a sudden erratic motion, but
would be a series of wobbling wandering maneuvers over a period
of days in synchronization with rotational speed and direction.
The waters and atmosphere of the earth would be able to move along
with it without extreme catastrophic results. During this maneuver
however, there would in all probability be strong global earthquake
activity because of the internal pressures and changes such a
maneuver would cause.
As to just
when? Well that is another story.
