BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) -- A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck a northeast oil-producing region in Colombia today. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The earthquake centered in Arauca State, near the border with Venezuela, occurred at 7:20 local time, the national seismological service said.
More than a thousand people died a year ago in Colombia when a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck cities and towns in the country's western coffee-producing belt.
