Moderate Quake Rattles Mexico's Southern Pacific Coast

The Associated Press

MEXICO CITY (AP) A moderate 4.5-magnitude earthquake rattled Mexico's southern Pacific coast on Wednesday, but no damages or injuries were immediately reported.

The quake occurred Wednesday evening and was centered just off the coast about 140 miles southwest of the resort city of Acapulco, the National Seismological Service reported.

Civil defense authorities said the quake was felt in some coastal communities in Oaxaca state, the site of the epicenter, but that there were no immediate reports of damage, the government news agency Notimex reported.
