New Zealand Jolted by Quake...04/29/00

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake rocked the western coastline of New Zealand's North Island on Thursday at 9:15 p.m., but there were no reports of injuries or damage.
The quake was centered about 37 miles southwest of the city of Patea, and occurred at a depth of 90 miles beneath the seabed off the Taranaki coastline.
Shaking was felt in the region of Wellington as well as southern Taranaki.
