Record Breaking Rain Follows X/M-Class Flares

by Mitch Battros (ECTV)

Rainfall had eased considerably Tuesday, following Monday's deluge when Seattle-Tacoma International Airport recorded a record for the date of 5.02 inches of rain, well over the old mark of 3.41 inches set in 1959, the weather service said. Records elsewhere included 7.2 inches at Shelton and 5.39 at Hoquiam.

Dozens of homes were evacuated Monday in northwestern Washington. One man had to be rescued by boat from a house near Darrington after the stormy weather turned back a helicopter, officials said. A family had to be rescued by boat from a house near Granite Falls.

One lane of U.S. 2 was closed through the Cascades on Tuesday because a slide had piled rocks as big as cars onto the highway. Boulders struck one car on the highway Monday but no one was injured, the State Patrol said.

Was this "record breaking" event just another coincidence? Or was it related to the recent high level solar storms we have been under for the last 48 hours? I would suggest it fits most comfortably within the 'cause-effect' period of my equation. This event once again is confirming a sharp tangible connection between solar activity and Earth's weather. Seattle Record Event Report

RECORD EVENT REPORT - NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SEATTLE WA 340 AM PDT TUE OCT 21 2003

...THE WETTEST DAY IN SEATTLE WEATHER HISTORY...SINCE 1891...

...RECORD RAINFALL IN WESTERN WASHINGTON ON MONDAY OCT 20TH...

Numerous daily rainfall records were broken across Western Washington. Sea-Tac airport also exceeded its all-time daily rainfall record.

LOCATION          MONDAY RAINFALL      PREVIOUS RECORD / YEAR

 SHELTON                      7.20 INCHES                   1.55 INCHES / 1966
  HOQUIAM                     5.39 INCHES                   0.93 INCHES / 1956
  SEA-TAC AIRPORT      5.02 INCHES                   1.27 INCHES / 1956
  OLYMPIA                      4.12 INCHES                   1.69 INCHES / 1956
  NOAA SANDPOINT     3.59 INCHES                   0.85 INCHES / 2000
  PORT ANGELES           2.36 INCHES                   1.67 INCHES / 1956
  STAMPEDE PASS         2.28 INCHES                   1.65 INCHES / 1946
  BELLINGHAM              1.40 INCHES                   0.55 INCHES / 1978

Watch for continued solar flare activity. There is a high chance a M-Class flare will erupt within the next 24 hours. More 'record breaking' weather is likely to follow.

Equation:
Sunspots => Solar Flares => Magnetic Shift => Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents => Extreme Weather and Human Disruption (mitch battros)

Thought For The Day

"Bless those who challenge us to grow, to stretch, to move beyond the knowable, to come back home to our elemental and essential nature. Bless those who challenge us for they remind us of doors we have closed and doors we have yet to open."
